8.0/10

The hotel's location was exceptional, right beside the Highland Wildlife Park and offering easy access to Aviemore, with ample parking options. The rooms were spacious but needed airing before use, and some care is required in their upkeep. The service was friendly and welcoming, especially when addressing concerns about the attic room initially provided. Dining options were good, although hot plates were necessary, and the cold buffet needed improvement. Value for money was worthwhile for extras before outdoor activities.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were very comfortable once aired out, but they should have been left to air for a couple of days before use. They were much larger than expected for this price range.

The dining experience was good, with attentive staff and worth the extra cost before a day of hill climbing, though improvements were needed with hot plates and the timing of the service, which started late.

7.0/10

The hotel had its highs and lows. While the location was superb, being close to Avimore and just next to the railway station, the rooms left much to be desired with the awkward layout and poor Wi-Fi. The service, however, was top-notch with a warm welcome and accommodating staff.

Rooms
5.0
The room we stayed in was in need of redecoration and felt cramped, especially with the short lead on the kettle making it tricky to move around.
